Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
Temple Beth Sholom Religious School welcomes and encourages parent and family involvement through holiday celebrations and special events throughout the year. We are lucky to have a wonderful group of parents, who are not only willing, but happy to lend their time and energy to enhance the Jewish education of their children.
Every parent is automatically a member of the TBS PTA. The PTA Executive Board meets monthly in a casual setting, to discuss issues of concern, as well as upcoming events and holidays, in which PTA plays an active role. All parents of religious school students are strongly encouraged to attend. PTA volunteers run several fundraisers each year, including the holiday book fair in December, the Purim carnival and the Passover candy sale. In addition, PTA volunteers distribute holiday treats to the students, create holiday booklets for family use, help decorate the TBS Sukkah, set up model Seders for the younger children, plan Shabbat dinners, and usher at the student and family services. There are also liaison positions on the PTA Board for Early Childhood and Solomon Schechter parents.
We are always happy to see new faces at our meetings and be rejuvenated with new ideas. While we recognize that your time is valuable, we also recognize that your children are invaluable. Please volunteer to help make your children’s experience at TBS Religious School full of wonderful memories and demonstrate to them how much you value their Jewish education.
