DESCRIPTION:Begin Your Jewish Reading Journey Today! \nTemple Beth Sholom’s Virtual Book Club brings outstanding faraway authors to your personal computer screen or cell phone LIVE. More of a social butterfly? Then there is the opportunity to meet as a group to view the author talk at a nearby host home TBA. \nLiteraryLikes members will read 6 stellar new releases\, curated by your TBS team\, in partnership with the Jewish Book Council. \n9/23/26\nTen Perfect Guests\nby Jonathan Santlofer\nTen perfect guests\, one secluded island\, no way out. When enigmatic artist Victor D’Arcangelo dies unexpectedly\, his nearest and dearest are summoned to a weekend memorial—or forfeit their inheritance. But paradise soon feels like a prison as old secrets surface and someone seeks revenge. A stylish\, twisty mystery from the acclaimed author of The Lost Van Gough. \n11/11/26\nHostage: A Memoir of Terrorism\, Trauma\, and Resilience\nby Mimi Nichter\nOn September 6\, 1970\, twenty-year-old Mimi Nichter was flying home from a summer in Israel when her plane was hijacked by armed members of the PFLP and forced down in the Jordanian desert. Held hostage for weeks as a violent civil war erupted around her\, Mimi stayed silent about her ordeal for over fifty years. Hostage is her courageous account of captivity\, healing and the resilience of the human spirit.\n \n1/20/27\nOff the Record\nby Sara Goodman Confino\nIt’s 1962\, and aspiring reporter Judy Greenberg wants nothing more than journalistic greatness—but mid-century sexism has sidelined her to the typing pool. When she intercepts a suspicious phone message meant for her boss\, Judy teams up with fellow reporter Jack Fields to chase a Cold War mystery that could change everything. Witty\, warm and unapologetically Jewish\, from the bestselling author of Don’t Forget to Write. \n3/10/27\nStained Glass: A Reflective History of Antisemitism\nby Flora Cassen\nPart memoir\, part history\, Stained Glass traces Flora Cassen’s Jewish life from her childhood in Antwerp—shaped by her grandparents’ escape from Nazi-occupied Europe—through her life in America today. Moving between medieval Europe and the present\, Cassen weaves family story and scholarship into a profound meditation on Jewish vulnerability\, belonging and identity. \n5/19/27\nThe Girl Who Rode the White Lion\nby Yishay Ishi Ron\nBased on a true story\, this sweeping novel follows Sarah Frank\, a young Jewish girl hidden from the Nazis inside a traveling circus\, where she forms an extraordinary bond with a magnificent white lion. Decades later in New York\, a chilling discovery inside that same lion unravels Sarah’s hidden past. A gripping tale of courage\, survival and unlikely sanctuary from the award-winning author of Dog. \n6/16/27\nRun Darling\nby Karen Essex\nBefore they were Old Hollywood legends\, the Gabor sisters—Zsa Zsa\, Eva and Magda—were young Jewish women fleeing Nazi-occupied Hungary.
