Steps Toward Understanding: Learning, Sharing, Growing Side by Side

10 AM: Breakfast
10:30 AM: Program

Join us for an inspiring morning with Lee Gordon, co-founder of Hand in Hand: Center for Jewish–Arab Education in Israel, and enjoy a shared breakfast drawn from the rich food traditions of the region as we explore a powerful model for hope, dignity and resilience.

In the aftermath of the war in Gaza, Hand in Hand continues its vital work—bringing Jewish and Arab children together to live, learn and grow side by side. Serving more than 2,100 students in six integrated, bilingual schools and communities, Hand in Hand demonstrates that when people share daily life with respect and equality, understanding can take root. The impact—on students, families, communities and society as a whole—is deep and lasting.

Lee Gordon, an American-born social worker and educational leader, lived in Israel for 20 years before helping to found Hand in Hand. Drawing on decades of experience in Jewish–Arab partnership and dialogue, he has helped build one of the region’s most enduring examples of a shared society. Now based in Portland, Oregon, Lee continues this work through American Friends of Hand in Hand, raising awareness and support for integrated education.

Come hear how education, partnership and courage are nurturing pathways toward peace and coexistence—one classroom, one community at a time.

Discover. Connect. Make a Difference.
