Award-winning, Welsh-born Journalist and Author, Former Middle East War Correspondent, Jack Fairweather
- This event has passed.
Award-winning, Welsh-born journalist and author, former Middle East War Correspondent Jack Fairweather, will speak on Shabbat, April 4, 2026.
Join award-winning war journalist and former Middle East correspondent Jack Fairweather, author of the National Jewish Book Award–winning The Prosecutor: One Man’s Battle to Bring Nazis to Justice. In a world where antisemitism is surging, Fairweather’s gripping account of one man’s fight to hold Nazi criminals accountable is a timely reminder that confronting hatred and defending justice is never optional.
Meet Fritz Bauer, the fearless Nazi hunter who risked everything to challenge a nation eager to forget its past. While Nuremberg prosecuted only top leaders, Bauer targeted the moral fabric of post-war Germany, bringing Auschwitz guards, the camp’s adjutant, an SS doctor, and others complicit in running the machinery of Auschwitz—many of whom had returned to influential positions— to justice in the historic Frankfurt Auschwitz Trials.
He also helped locate Adolf Eichmann in Argentina, urging Israeli authorities to capture and try him, overcoming obstacles posed by former Nazis, secret spies, and a government determined to bury the truth.
Drawing on unpublished family papers, declassified records and exclusive interviews, Fairweather brings this extraordinary story to life—full of intrigue, courtroom drama, moral courage, and personal sacrifice.
Learn history. Witness courage. Uphold justice.
Mr. Fairweather will speak from the bima, followed by a special kiddush luncheon and Q&A in the Chapel—an extraordinary chance to hear directly from the author and explore Bauer’s legacy and Fairweather’s journey in bringing it to life.
