Heather MillerParents and students of 7th and 8th graders and High Schoolers are invited to share a wonderful session with Heather Miller, an Assistant Principal in New York City, President of Flatbush Jewish Center, and a future Rabbi.

As the President of her synagogue, she strives to build a community that is safe for all. Heather was recently on the planning committee for (and served as a co-facilitator) USCJ’s Kol Tzedek Conference and she works with USCJ, UJA and the Jewish Education Project to help move racial justice work forward in Jewish spaces and was awarded MTNY’s 2020 Ernest L. Rothschild Leadership Award. Her favorite role of all, however, is as the mother of three amazing boys who are proudly descended from both freed slaves and Holocaust survivors.

Heather’s reflective and interactive session will help us understand how our words and actions may be sending messages that we don’t mean or may be unintentionally hurtful.

She will help us to develop strategies and understanding to assist us in creating a more welcoming community. These skills will serve all of us as we continue to grow and learn wherever our paths lead, educationally, personally and professionally.
