10/7 Commemorating Three Years

Three years ago, our community — and communities around the world — watched as Israel endured its darkest day. This October, Temple Beth Sholom invites you to join us in commemorating October 7th and honoring the strength, resilience and sacrifice that have defined the years since.

We are honored to welcome Ira Kohler, a Long Island native and IDF Lone Soldier, who will join us for a powerful conversation about his experience serving in the Paratroopers Brigade — including fighting on the front lines in Kibbutz Be’eri on October 7th and his more than 100 days inside Gaza that followed. Ira will share his journey and his memoir, Once a Paratrooper: The Story of a Lone Soldier in the Gaza War — the first book written by a Lone Soldier from the war.

Copies of Once a Paratrooper will be available for purchase and signing following the program.
