In recent years, the scourge of e-cigarette addiction has taken hold of teens across America. While the manufacturers of popular e-cigarettes, including “Juul,” claimed that their products were only for adult smokers, we saw our friends starting to vape, falling behind in their academics, and experiencing addiction.

Makom students and their families are invited to an evening exploration of teen vaping and nicotine addiction. We will be joined by members of Students Against Nicotine, a national group of high school and college students working to combat e-cigarette use and addiction through Legislative Advocacy, Interactive Peer-to-Peer Education, Parent/Educator Training, Bilingual Prevention Education Projects, Collaboration with Medical/Scientific Researchers, Media Initiatives, and more.

We will be joined by Abe Baker-Butler, Co-Founder and Executive Director, and Raghav Joshi, Expansion/Outreach Director of SAN. Both Abe and Raghav are active in their communities, and are passionate about pressing issues like vaping, gun violence, climate change, and have advocated for legislation at the local, state, and national level.
